What's the point in performing N number of rituals for close to 10-14 days, The person is DEAD!!!! PERIOD!!!! Out of sheer respect & duty u may/can dissolve their ashes in the river performing basic rituals. After that there's absolutely no need for the other rituals. If u have respected them, treated them with dignity when they were alive i don't think they would want u to waste your precious time and money performing Shraatham/Devasam/Last rites.. They would have died with the satisfaction that u have been kind to them!!! There ain't going to be any crappy "paap" or "sin" or 'wrath'' that's going to fall upon us. I think we need to stop believing in such silly/superstitious rituals. Everyone has to die one fine day. Today it might be x, tomorrow it will be one of us, But surely i wouldn't want people wasting their time doing Multiple day rituals after my time. If your done with the cremation/dissolving the ashes, Please move on!!!!!!
GET ON WITH LIFE FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!! All your going to end up is over paying all these priests who have a grand opportunity to loot u when that bloody money can be of some use for a better cause/situation!!!
